1. Walks

Not only will they get their exercise, but they'll also get a front-row seat to the neighborhood squirrels, which they might see as their arch-nemeses. Different smells, sights, and sounds will have your dog feeling like they're on an epic adventure—just don't forget the doggy bag for their 'treasures!'

2. Games

Engaging in interactive games like fetch or tug-of-war can definitely lift your dog's spirits. Let’s face it: what other activity lets them run around like a maniac and still regard you as their personal hero? Just remember, after a solid tug-of-war session, your dog will expect you to reach for the nearest eye-squishing toy, or risk being labeled 'the meanest human ever.' We love a good game of "find it" in our house where we hide treats and our pup goes on her mission to search for them! We use her food or training treats.

3. Puzzles

Puzzle toys are an excellent way to keep your dog entertained. Basically, it's like giving them a college education—only with a lot more slobber and a shorter attention span. They get to work for their treats, which makes them feel like they’ve joined an elite club of canine geniuses!

4. Training

Believe it or not, training can be a fun activity for dogs! Teaching them new tricks might feel like a reality show where they are the stars, and you're the overenthusiastic host. Who wouldn't want to show off their dog’s ability to do a backflip (well, if they could actually do that)?!

5. Explore

Why not shake things up a bit? Taking your dog to new parks or hiking trails will not only make them feel like explorers on a grand quest but will also help you both discover the nearest ice cream truck—you'll need the rewards for after their nature hike!

6. Agility

If you have the space, transform your backyard into an agility course! Your dog's idea of fun may now involve jumping over obstacles like they're auditioning for the canine Olympics. Those hurdles won't know what hit them—well, your dog will probably just run into them, but hey, creativity counts!

8. Toys

Sometimes, a new toy is all your dog needs to go from zero to zoomies! Whether it’s a squeaky toy, a plushie, or a chew bone, introducing a new item can make them act like they just won the lottery. Just be ready for their enthusiastic squeak of approval—and potential chaos! Our dog loves squeaky toys and bones. Her go-to bones right now are Benebone and Honest Chews. She is a large breed power chewer and these actually hold up longer than other brands we've tried.

9. Enrichment

Enrichment toys are a great solution if you are looking for something beyond a standard ball, or something that will hold your pup's interest for more than just a minute!

We love filling an enrichment toy with our dog's favorite treats and freezing! It gives her a rewarding challenge that is both mentally stimulating and physically tiring. Our favorite ones to use a Kong or West Paw Toppl. We also love the Woof Pupsicles!

10. Routine

Dogs thrive on routine! Establishing a daily schedule for walks, playtime, feeding, and training can keep them out of trouble—and out of your shoe cabinet! A predictable routine not only reduces anxiety but also gives them something to look forward to, like their favorite reality show, but starring you!
